8th Street South Beach
In 1992 Hurricane Andrew hit Miami Beach with devastating force and destruction. In the aftermath the city called upon architect William Lane and his team to design new lifeguard stands. The idea was to make a statement about the community’s revitalization and cultural renaissance. The new replacements were and still are quintessentially Miami in every way representing the city's mid-century architecture, tropical beauty and Caribbean culture. New designs and rebuilding have continued to this day.
